Examining the manifesto of NDC,NPP,Movement For Change,The New Force

The political atmosphere in Ghana is dynamic and multifaceted, reflecting a tapestry of historical narratives, socio-economic challenges, and evolving public expectations. As the nation approaches its elections, the manifestos of the NDC, NPP, Movement for Change, and The New Force offer a window into the aspirations and priorities of different segments of the Ghanaian populace. Let’s explore these parties in greater depth, focusing on their historical contexts, key policy proposals, and potential impacts on the electorate.    1.The NDC has its roots in the Provisional National Defence Council, which ruled Ghana after a military coup in the early 1980s. Over the years, it has evolved into a major political party advocating for social democracy and equity.    Their manifesto often reflects a commitment to social justice, poverty alleviation, and infrastructural development. It emphasizes the need for government intervention in the economy to ensure equitable distribution of

**Ghanaians Must Reject Insults Disguised as Promises**

It is deeply insulting to hear the NDC’s promise to pay for first-year students' fees, especially when former President John Mahama previously condemned these students by alleging that they copied to pass their WASSCE exams. Such statements are not only contradictory but also disrespectful to the hard-working youth of Ghana who have invested their efforts in achieving academic success. This inconsistency is seen by many Ghanaians as a deliberate insult, suggesting that the NDC’s promise is nothing more than a tactic to win votes rather than a genuine commitment to education. The youth of Ghana must recognize this as an affront to their integrity. To first accuse students of dishonesty and then turn around to offer financial support is not just hypocritical; it sends a clear message that the efforts and achievements of the youth are being taken lightly and manipulated for political gain. It is unacceptable for leaders to shift their narrative so drastically without accountability, a

AG tenders all 68 whatsapp messages from Richard Jakpa to Dame; defense lawyers object

The State during today's cross-examination presented to the court 68 whatsapp messages sent from Richard Jakpa, the 3rd accused in the ongoing Ato Forson trial and the only 2 responses by the learned Attorney-General to the 68 messages of Richard Jakpa. The State sought to tender the full complement of whatsapp messages sent by Mr. Jakpa to Hon. Godfred Dame after the Director of Public Prosecutions, the learned Mrs. Yvonne Atakora Obuobisa shot the question of the number of messages sent by Mr. Jakpa to the A-G and the number of messages which the A-G sent in response to those 68 messages. The learned DPP prior to questions of the 68 messages sent by Mr. Jakpa to the A-G sought to suggest to Mr. Jakpa that he introduced himself to the AG and that prior to the commencement of his trial he was unknown to the learned Attorney-General to which the 3rd accused Richard Jakpa agreed to. In his response to the question, he said he got the A-G's number from his cousin, the respected Yo

Ambulance case: Audio does not show AG instructing jakpa to implicate Ato Forson- Judge

Image
The judge presiding over the ambulance case has ruled that the audio conversation between Richard Jakpa and the Attorney General did not reveal any instruction from Godfred Dame for Mr. Jakpa to implicate Ato Forson. The content of the audio was the subject of applications brought before the court by Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa seeking to halt prosecutions against them. The audio conversation was tendered as part of the exhibits in support of the application for mistrial by Dr Cassiel Ato Forson. Justice Afia Serwah Asare Botwe in dismissing the application for mistrial, assessed the content of the recording, after dismissing the Attorney General’s objection to the tendering of the pen drive containing the audio. The Judge noted that the conversation reveals an engagement between Richard Jakpa and Godfred Dame. However, the Conversation does not support claims that the Attorney General asked Richard Jakpa to implicate Ato Forson. She also found that the Attorney General di

A High Court Judge, Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe, has advised the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Godfred Yeboah Dame, to recuse himself from the ambulance procurement case involving Dr Cassiel Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa, citing allegations of professional and prosecutorial misconduct. According to JoyNews' Latif Iddrisu, Godfred Dame stood up in an attempt to explain himself, but the judge maintained her stance. This decision follows separate applications filed by the first accused, Dr Forson, and the third accused, Richard Jakpa. The applications sought several orders, including an inquiry into the Attorney-General's conduct based on Jakpa's claims that the Attorney-General had been contacting him at odd hours.  They also requested a mistrial to terminate the case, a stay of proceedings until the applications were determined, and a motion to strike out charges against Jakpa. Dr Ato Forson, the Minority Leader and former Deputy Finance Minister, filed three
